Where it earns its keep

  • Public $199 / $399 / $749 list, aimed at trades with little office staff
  • AI Voice plus a live receptionist, Jobber booking, invoice-by-text
  • Angi, Thumbtack, and Facebook leads land in one inbox

Where it falls short

  • FAQ says cancel anytime; terms require 30-day written notice plus a weekday phone confirm, no pro-rata
  • BBB 2025–2026: billed for spam, wrong jobs booked, live desk left a prospect on hold
  • Not missed-call text-back, not reviews (Hibu bought that in 2023), not for dental/salon/law

What it actually does

SignpostAI answers the phone for trades. AI Voice picks up in a couple of rings, filters spam, can qualify and book. Live Receptionist is a human 24/7. Texts go into a Messaging Hub. Instant Responders hit Angi, Thumbtack, Facebook, and SMS. They can invoice by text and sync QuickBooks Online. Jobber booking is a real integration. Housecall Pro is named on a page with no dedicated connector. ServiceTitan is blog-only. That is the 2026 product.

It is not missed-call text-back. Strategy is answer the call so it is not missed. It is not a review tool. Hibu bought the marketing and reviews platform in September 2023. Old Capterra pages still talk Mia and $99 a user. Ignore them. It is not a website chatbot or a listings product. Dentists, salons, and law firms are not the 2026 ICP. There is no Dentrix, Mindbody, or Clio page.

Who should buy it

Buy it only if you are HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, or pest, you have little or no office staff, and you want a receptionist plus a text inbox, not Google reviews. Even then, I would not.

The reason not to buy is the paper plus the live desk. Pricing FAQ says month-to-month, cancel anytime, no penalty. Terms say the Service Order wins. Default cancel is written notice at least 30 days before the next bill, then you also have to phone (844) 202-2015 Monday through Friday 9 to 6 Central. Miss the window and you pay the next term. No pro-rata if you cancel. They process cancel only at zero balance. BBB 2024: a shop turned the service off, was told they could not cancel until the last bill was paid, and kept getting billed. ComplaintsBoard 2024: sales said cancel if unhappy, then a contract and a $1,396 buyout. BBB January 2026: billed for spam the company said would not count, and a live receptionist left a prospect on hold 3.5 minutes then said the firm does not offer the one service it offers. BBB April 2025: a roofing company, receptionist scheduled lawn mowing.

The verdict

G2 is about 3.7 from 55 (indexed 2026, live page blocked). Capterra 4.1 from 57, thin after 2023. Trustpilot about 3.9 from 106. Reddit: none retrieved. BBB is A-plus, not accredited, five customer reviews all one star, zero company replies. One HVAC five-star on Trustpilot in September 2025 is not enough to cover that.

Official list August 25, 2026: Standard $199 a month, Advanced $399, Complete $749. Every paid plan has a $199 setup. First month is not the headline. AI overage $0.40 a minute. Live overage $1.90 to $2.10, and each live call adds 60 seconds of wrap. Directories still print $99 per user. Stale. Demo-gated despite public prices.

Skip. If you need a trades receptionist with a human safety net, Smith.ai publishes per-call prices and a 30-day money-back on the first plan payment. If you only needed Google reviews, NiceJob. Do not sign a SignpostAI Service Order that does not match the FAQ in writing.
