Birdeye

Situational

The multi-location reviews-and-listings suite. A one-truck shop should not be on this contract.

Visit Birdeye

Where it earns its keep

  • Reviews plus listings at scale (200-plus review sites, 100-plus directories, GBP)
  • Real dental PMS depth (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental) and HIPAA
  • Multi-location reporting a DSO or franchise can actually use

Where it falls short

  • Custom quote, typically annual, 90-day written non-renewal
  • 8% Innovation Fee at auto-renew unless you strike it from the order form
  • Overkill for a one-location shop that just wanted Google reviews

What it actually does

Birdeye is a reputation and local-presence suite, not a phone system. After a job or appointment closes in Dentrix, ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, Clio, or Mindbody, it texts and emails a review ask. It watches 200-plus review sites from one dashboard and pushes NAP, hours, and photos to 100-plus directories, including Google Business Profile, Apple Business Connect, Bing, Yelp, and Healthgrades. A website chatbot (Robin) can capture leads and continue by text. There is also social posting, surveys, referrals, mass text, location pages, and a Stripe payments module.

That is a lot of product. In 2026 they sell it as an “agentic marketing platform” with AI coworkers (Jay, Myna, Robin). The part that actually earns the invoice for a local brand is still reviews plus listings. Messaging can forward unanswered calls to a Birdeye number that takes voicemail, transcribes it, and texts the caller. That is not missed-call text-back and not an AI receptionist. Do not buy it for the phone.

Who should buy it

Buy it if you run several locations and you need one dashboard for Google reviews and directory accuracy. That is the real ICP: DSOs and multi-site dental (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, HIPAA), franchise and multi-unit retail, multi-office law (Clio), salon groups on Mindbody, and home-service groups on ServiceTitan. Homepage logos are Aspen Dental, Sutter, H&R Block, not a one-truck plumber. They claim 9,000-plus home-services customers. A four-location HVAC shop with a marketing coordinator is in range. A single van is not.

Do not buy it if you only wanted post-job Google reviews. That is NiceJob money. Do not buy it if the pain is voicemail and text-to-pay. That is Podium or a receptionist. If Jobber or the PMS already fires a review SMS, you are stacking an annual contract on a text you already send.

The reason not to buy is the paper, not the dashboard. Terms effective May 13, 2026: the order form sets the term (typically annual), it auto-renews for the same period, and you need written non-renewal at least 90 days out. Payments are non-cancellable and non-refundable. Miss the window and you own another year. At auto-renew they apply an 8% “Innovation Fee” on recurring fees unless the order form says otherwise (deals before April 1, 2024 may be exempt). Trustpilot sits at about 3.5 from 650-plus reviews; G2 is 4.7 from thousands, many seller-invite. The angry reviews are cancel and billing, not “reviews did not go up.” BBB is A-plus accredited and still full of 90-day notice fights, including shops that thought they were month-to-month.

The verdict

Pricing is custom. The live pricing page is a location-band form (1-3 up to 1000-plus) and a get-pricing button. No dollars. Plan names Starter, Growth, and Dominate show up on GetApp and Software Advice as “upon request.” Blogs still print $299 / $349 / $449 per location. Those numbers are not on birdeye.com. Do not treat them as a rate card. Mass texting is an official add-on. Social is the one public figure: $50 a month for single-location accounts. 10DLC fees can be passed through. Get locations, modules, SMS, onboarding, the 8% fee, and the cancel address in the order form.

Situational: right for a multi-location dental or home-service group that will staff it and calendar day 270. Skip for a one-location shop. That buyer is on the wrong contract.
